Cookie Policy
Last updated: 24 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how SerbiaRun uses cookies and similar technologies on the public website and web application. Read it together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
You can change browser settings to block or delete cookies; blocking strictly necessary cookies may break sign-in or preference features.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as browser local storage to remember language, theme, and (if introduced later) cookie choices.
2. How we use cookies today
SerbiaRun currently uses only strictly necessary and functional technologies required for the Service to work as expected. We do not currently set advertising or optional analytics cookies by default.
2.1 Strictly necessary / authentication
Authentication and session cookies (or equivalent storage managed by our auth provider) keep you signed in securely and help protect the login mechanism (for example limiting unexpected access attempts).
These are essential. We do not ask for consent before placing them because the Service cannot offer account-based registration without them.
2.2 Functionality / preferences
Language preference: cookie and/or local storage key serbiarun-locale so the site can show English or Serbian consistently and reduce flicker on load.
Theme preference: cookie and/or local storage key serbiarun-theme (light/dark) so appearance matches your choice or system preference handling.
These preference technologies are an inherent, expected part of the Service interface. They are not used to build advertising profiles.
3. Cookie categories we may use in the future
If we expand tracking, we may introduce additional categories. Where required by law, we will show a banner and obtain a clear affirmative consent before non-essential cookies run.
Analytics cookies: understand aggregated usage, errors, and performance (only after consent if required).
Advertising cookies: deliver more relevant ads (only after consent if required). We do not currently use these.
Social media cookies: set by third-party embeds or share tools if we add them; controlled by those providers’ policies.
4. Your choices
Browser controls: most browsers let you block third-party cookies, delete existing cookies, or warn before storing cookies. See your browser’s help for Internet Explorer/Edge, Firefox, Chrome, or Safari.
If we add a consent banner later, you will be able to accept or reject non-essential categories and revisit preferences from the footer.
Rejecting future analytics/advertising cookies will not remove strictly necessary authentication or language/theme preferences.
5. List of current SerbiaRun preference identifiers
serbiarun-locale — stores language (en / sr); purpose: functionality; duration: up to one year for the cookie copy (local storage until cleared).
serbiarun-theme — stores theme (light / dark); purpose: functionality; duration: up to one year for the cookie copy (local storage until cleared).
Authentication/session identifiers — set by our authentication/hosting provider as needed for secure sign-in; purpose: strictly necessary; duration: per provider session/security settings.
6. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies changes. The “Last updated” date will change accordingly. Material new non-essential cookies may require a fresh consent choice.
